So, it turns out that I’m a bit biased when talking about Teen Influencers. But seriously, who isn’t these days? There’s so much negative publicity these days about teens and tweens and all of the horrible things that go hand-in-hand with the online experience. However, I try to believe the Internet can actually be amazingly positive for youth.
Rarely does the media talk about all of the great things that teens, specifically, are doing and capable of achieving online. They can learn important life skills, such as technical, writing (creative and journalistic), business, and people skills, among others. They can learn about entrepreneurialism through hands-on activities and work. I especially love how young people can form a newfound love of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) through the use of blogging and social media.
I’m a longstanding advocate for the positive, educational, and fun use of the Internet for tweens and teens, especially blogging. In 2011, I used to write heavily about integrating STEAM into families’ daily lives. Unfortunately, that blog is now dead, so I’m going to have to search through the personal abyss I lovingly refer to as Google Drive in order to republish those gems…
I also joined the board of experts of Quib.ly – Innovation and Inspiration for Moden Parents. I have the opportunity to answer great and interesting questions about how to best leverage technology for educational and entrepreneurial reasons. I’m obviously really excited/passionate/excited. Did I mention excited? That’s probably an understatement.
In the past, I have even blogged about how to start a kid-parent blogging team. Blogger Babes will be sharing all the must-know’s and how-to’s of blogging as or with teenagers for maximum awesomeness, so be on the lookout.
As part of our—wait for it—#TeenInfluencers column, Blogger Babes will also be featuring unique content written by teen bloggers and influencers, such as Every (Awesome) Reason Why Teens Should Blog and How to Turn What You Love into a Community You Love. And yes, we’re sticking to one hashtag—for now, at least.
So, it is with a happy heart and giddy, girlish grin that I share with you the launching of the world’s first Teen Influencer Network Blogger Babes is launching this month. Our tentative date is Tuesday, December 8th. I’m literally beaming over my laptop right now!
So, SO ex-to-the-cited. That’s a thing, right?
Blogger Babes 3.0 Comin’ at Ya!
- Blogger Babes 1.0 was when Heidi was a one-woman-show back in 2013.
- Blogger Babes 2.0 was October 2014, when we rebranded and launched our official partnership.
- Blogger Babes 3.0 is right… NOW!
What’s New?
Our Website. It’s being designed and developed as we speak, and it’s like no other site on the web! Is there some bias in that statement? I guess I’m guilty, yet again… but to my defense, overseeing (and bossing around) the whole process is making me just want to click the “Publish” button. Luckily, such a button doesn’t exist—I think it would’ve messed things up.
Our Partners. In my personal life, I’m competitive, yes—but definitely not with Blogger Babes.
Why? Because we offer educational materials that make us prime partners for every single—yes, every single blogger and influencer network out there. The ones choosing not to partner with us fall into one of the three following groups:
- They’re still figuring out how to partner with us, aka both sides are working tirelessly towards our partnership.
- We haven’t met yet! If by any chance, you’re reading this and fall into this category, feel free to email me personally. Blogger Babes’ standard affiliate commission is 50%. However, some of Blogger Babe’s unique partnership bonuses add up so that BB only makes 45% of our own products. Yes, seriously.
- They think we’re competitors, and declined to work with us. Boo hoo! No sarcasm intended… The ever-popular excuse is “we’re going to make/planning on making our own educational materials…” Why reinvent the wheel? Blogger Babes can be your educational partner. Let’s be buds—er, I mean, partners.
Our Platform. Yes, we’re building our own proprietary brand-influencer platform with dynamic real-time reporting and lots of other cool things! More on that on our launch date! There are too many benefits for brands and influencers—it’s simply sick! In a great way, of course!
Our Members. We’re stretching our wings out. Keep reading, there’s more info below!
Influencers and Teens
Influencers
You can be a “Blogger Babe” and not just a “Blogger” simply by being an influencer online. The vast majority of our membership, however, will always remain bloggers. As we take on other influencers, I’m going to do my very best to convert them to “our side” on the digital railroad tracks… over to blogging, simply for this one singular reason:
So that all influencers can own their own content always and forever.
It’s as simple as that. You don’t really “own” all of your traffic or followers on all the different platforms. The only way to d so is via a self-hosted WordPress blog and private email list… at least in my own opinion! However, that’s the soapbox. Next is:
Teen Influencers
Yeehaw! Why does every blogger or influencer network leave them out!?
Blogger Babes is different, but how?
- I’m a mom. I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure that makes a big difference. I’ll leave the details out.
- My teen daughters are professional bloggers, info-product creators, Kindle eBook authors and publishers, virtual assistants, designers, programmers, and developers for the past six years.
- They’ve been on development teams and advisory boards, and they’ve served as beta testers to numerous websites, blogs, apps, and gaming systems to share a “kids’ perspective.”
- They’ve worked with dozens of brands with and without me.
So, in the spirit of Blogger Babes being “by female bloggers for female bloggers,” we are now also “by female influencers for female influencers” and “by female mentors or aunties for all young female bloggers”.
Are we perfect for everyone?
Is anyone? No. However, we are an ideal solution for any female blogger in the fashion, beauty, lifestyle, food, travel, DIY/crafts, and home niches aged 13 years old and up.
Blogger Babes is not an exclusive network. That means that you can continue being a member of other networks. We’re just a great option to add to your arsenal of networks to give you more work, events, opportunities, and, of course, the education to help you grow your blogging business!
And, no, it is not all about the money. It never should be, especially for teens. It’s all about the benefits that I explained above and so many more that we’ll elaborate on later. (I think I’m already over 1,000 words!)
The point is: if you want to connect with like-minded ambitious teen girls online, please consider joining us. We’re not just for the old bloggers and influencers; we’re a community for you-—you 13 to 19 year olds—too.
For teens, we will definitely offer you a unique experience. So, if you’re a teen blogger or online influencer interested in taking your hobby to the next level, feel free to explore and stick around. Join our mailing list right now so you can register when we launch next week!
Are you as excited as I am?! Pleasesayyes!*
*That’s a super excited “please say yes!”
